On June 19th I was welcomed to cover Sudha and Saagar's Wedding at the Embassy Suites in Murfreesboro. It was absolutely stunning! It was so unlike any other ceremony I had ever covered and it was exciting to see all the different traditions. I hope somewhere in the 2400 photos taken I managed to capture the true beauty of their union!

I went out to meet the little man and visit with Angie a few weeks ago, and here are a few of the results!

Family Portraits: Making the most of your time.

I wanted to write briefly about Family portraits. Scheduling can be really hard for some families when you have so many other things on your calendar. Several people book an appointment then have to postpone, reschedule, or cancel altogether. Then I inevitably hear how much they wish they did not wait so long. Now, ideally, you would have an hour to devote to your photos. In this situation you have so much more time to capture unexpected moments. Here are a few examples from my most recent session with John, Megan, and Mary Dudley Hill.

but we also captured spontaneous moments and precious memories.

and just getting to express her personality for a while

There is no question that time is a luxury.
However, some people just have too much to do and a milestone can slip away. The best example I have is of my older sister. There is always a soccer game, or a PTO function, or a sleep over to excuse not taking pictures of her boys. And these are my own nephews. I wanted you to see a handful of the over 100 photos I got of the kids in only 15 minutes.

Blair and Andrew

Wow! It only took me 3 months to write about this one!
You have already seen Blair's stunning Bridal Portraits, so I wanted to share a few from her actual big day.
Andrew and Blair were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia with a reception at the Memorial Building. It was my first time to work in both places and I loved them! The Memorial Building really had a lot of character for such a large space (not large enough, Blair and Andrew had such a crowd they still had to have a tent for overflow!).

I love this one in front of the doors to their reception. The moss covered initial is so gorgeous. Her sister Neely made those!

I really loved all of the details at their wedding, honestly. I think the orange and blue were just perfect.

There is nothing I love more at a reception than a couple who really enjoys themselves. It is wonderful to see them dancing and just loving their first party as husband and wife!!

Bridal Blair

Blair and Andrew were actually married on March 20th, but I took over 2000 photos at their wedding so those are not finished and ready for posting! Here are a few photos from Blair's Bridal Portrait session the week before at Rippavilla Plantation. Again, EXTREMELY hard to narrow down my choices!

Sudha and Sagaar will be married this June and if I was looking forward to their wedding before I am even more excited now that I have shot their engagement portraits. They seriously do not take a bad photograph! I have posted several from their session at the Opryland Hotel. It took a while to narrow these down!!

Congratulations Derrick and Leiah!!

About one month ago I was asked to do something extremely cool! I was hired to cover a birthday party for Derrick, but it was all just a cover so he could surprise Leiah with a proposal later that night! Derrick (Uncle to the adorable Forrest you see in the cowboy hat and belt buckle on my website) had put together a DVD of lots of photos of his childhood and his relationship with Leiah. At the end was a series of new photos where he posed with different signs popping the question. Here are a couple of shots from the surprise moment. It was such a joy to be included. I was so nervous all night that I was going to slip and say something, or that Leiah would wonder why I had a camera trained on her face the whole time they were watching the DVD! And of course, I cried.

Let me tell you, if any of you guys out there want to hire me to cover your proposal I would be thrilled. This was one of the sweetest things I have ever been asked to do and I will never forget it.

Actually, I know exactly where the time goes.... it goes to being Mommy! We welcomed our 3rd (and FINAL) child on February 4th. Everett Nox Dunaway ( The END, get it?) is, just like his older brother and sister, proving to be an extremely photogenic child. Just one photo here, I am trying to practice restraint!

Wow! Where does the time go!! I have the best of intentions when it comes to updating this blog, but weeks disappear before I realize what is happening!
Okay, I wanted to share just a few photos from Courtney and Jonathan's wedding in December. Courtney was actually a bridesmaid in Mandy and Chris's wedding back in June. I was picking on her then that she needed to reserve my services for her own wedding and Jonathan proposed a few days later!!! They had a wonderful engagement session last fall followed by a beautiful wedding at Christmas.

On a personal note... Courtney is also my gorgeous nephew Karson's kindergarten teacher, so I had to include a photo of the two of them!

On Halloween morning I opened my home to photograph regular clients and hopefully new clients in their costumes. This is just a sampling of all the little ones who came through. I of course could not resist photographing my two. That is my Cowboy Gus and my Tiger Lily at the top!
It was a huge success and I hope to repeat this every year!!

Bell Buckle Bride!

I was soooooo excited to shoot the Meredith Short (now Crockett) wedding on September 26th. I did her sister, Rachael's, wedding last July. It is always great to see families again and to know that they enjoyed your work so much they hire you again!!!
Meredith and Brian were married at Fosterville Church of Christ, so charming and full of character the way only small town Churches can be. They held their reception in Bell Buckle. I am sure you have guessed that they had Moon Pie favors! This is just a handful of my favorites from that day!

A Family Wedding!!

My cousin Jason married his lovely Bride Jeana here at the Sam Davis Home on September 19th! This is one of the weddings that you know are truly meant to be! The weather was terrible for a few days causing them to invest in a tent and give up their outdoor dance floor. BUT it stopped raining shortly before photos started and stayed clear right up until their limo drove away!

Memphis Tennessee

I had the pleasure of traveling to Memphis on September 12th for Leslie and Matt's wedding! They were married at Matt's home church and their reception was at the coolest place, The Pink Palace!

While in Memphis I met newly engaged couple Shawn and Darris who booked me to come back and shoot their wedding in April 2010! Here are a couple of shots from their engagement session.

Hello again! I cannot believe it has been over two weeks since I have written!! I have been crazy busy. First, I was finishing up the photos from Christina and Barry's wedding in early August. They were married at their home church in Murfreesboro and their reception was held at the Smyrna Town Center.

Christina and Barry are both Nashville Firefighters and their cake was a special creation by Maples Cakes of Murfreesboro.

Next came the 1 year photo shoot for Mr. Carter Blair. I have been shooting Carter since February of this year and he has the BEST time at all photos shoots. With Carter it is all about capturing his moments before you get the portrait. This time was no exception. Sometimes one has to splash in a few puddles.....

I also recently shot Christin and Nate's Wedding at Historic Cedarwood in Nashville. This was a wonderful experience for me! I have done several weddings at Cedarwood but this time they had added a few new things and special touches that were inspirational! Here are just a handful of favorite photos!

It was also time for my nephew, Mason's, 3 year photos. It is sometimes difficult for me to get great photos of my nephews and niece. Sometimes they just don't take me seriously! Of course, sometimes, all they do when they see me is pose since they are so used to me with a camera. I swear, I think one of my nephews thought my name was "Say Cheese" until he was 3!
Here are a couple of my new favorites of Mason. He was really into his boots!!

And lastly, for today any way, I was actually in Florida LAST NIGHT for my first beach wedding!!! My husband, Andrew, drove me down so I could work for 5 hours and then we turned around and came right back because I have a wedding tonight in Nashville!! Ashley and Josh were married in Destin and while I am sure I will have lots more to offer on this one I just wanted to throw up a few for you to see right away!!

Hello everyone and welcome to the Jennifer Dunaway Photography Blog! I know this is a little overdue, but better late than never. I am very excited about being able to update everyone on a regular basis with shoots that are going on and possible events! Please let me know what you think of the Blog and be sure to share it with your friends!

Here are some photos from Mandy and Chris Harrington's wedding that I shot on June 27th. This was my first wedding at Historic Carnton Plantation in Franklin, TN.

I also wanted to share a few photos from my latest children and family sessions.

First, we have the brand new Dirk Hyde!! I shot Brooke and Luke's Wedding in July of 2006 and was thrilled when Brooke called me to shoot her baby boy's newborn photos. She drove all the way up from Huntsville for these and they were taken in my home!

Next we have my newest clients! I just met the Boggs family last month and here are the latest photos of the stinkin' adorable Forrest Boggs! These were taken at Canonsburgh in Murfreesboro, TN. I have had a few weddings there and I do a lot of family photos and children's portraits there as well.

This is my last batch for today's post! This is the ridiculously photogenic Johnson Family. I shot Carrie and Stan's wedding in September 2007 and have been capturing Baby Elliott since he was born earlier this year. He has inherited his mother's love of the camera!! This photo session was done at Ellington Agricultural Center in Nashville, TN. It is a wonderful location because it offers several locations and is one of the few places in Nashville you can shoot without a permit.
